Our personal and communal histories are compiled through a combination of objective information and subjective experience. Often rational and scientific means are used to learn about the world that surrounds us, but these results are always inflected by our own personal experiences and emotions. The same event witnessed, song heard, or story read by a group of people is remembered differently by each person.

My work examines information gathered from my own life in an objective manner in an attempt to understand it more fully while I simultaneously acknowledge and accept the fallibility and futility of such an endeavor. Ultimately the truths we create for ourselves are as flawed and malleable as we are.
